I’ve been following the blog since Laura started it, and I’ve tried many of her tips and tricks. I always struggled to find tasty ways to cook up tofu, vegetables and healthier versions of food I love (zucchnini in mac n cheese, cauliflower pizza, kale anything…all bad). The fun and easy recipes featured on CMP were inexpensive and simple to try at home with stuff I had at the back of my pantry. Avocado and kale pesto, vegan PB chocolate cheesecake, tofu recipes and black bean brownies are things I regularly make to keep the guilt away from some of my favourite foods. Even if I don’t try every recipe, I love seeing the artfully presented food on my insta feed.
Colour my palate changed the way I look at health food- it can be tasty and it can be beautiful!

I started following @colourmypalate after a dinner party when Laura mentioned that she wanted to take a picture of the food to post on her account. Ever since then, my Instagram feed has become blessed with healthy recipes, fun facts about food, and cooking tips and tricks. Being a moderate health freak and a single father, I tend to be very picky about what I eat or feed my son. So I tend to do a lot of research before I start including anything into my weekly groceries or meal plans. There’s a lot of stuff on the internet, especially on social media about food and nutrition. There is however, quite a bit of misinformation in regards of what is actually good to eat or not. This is why from the beginning of Laura starting Colour My Palate I have supported her initiative. Her daily posts about various foods you can eat with their nutritional benefits, simple recipes anyone can make and informative facts about food make it a daily highlight of my day. Insta: I’ve been following this journey with ColourMyPalate since the beginning after having the absolute pleasure of meeting Laura in person. She really does a great job of letting her light shine through to her content - always bringing the lightheartedness and fun that should naturally occur while making magic happen in the kitchen. With the growing number of blogs and Instagram accounts about nutrition, it’s sometimes hard to know whether the information is reliable. If I were to describe Colour My Palate in 3 words, they would be: insightful, creative, and passionate.
Cooking has never been one of my strong suits. However, by following Laura’s simple, yet engaging methods for meal preparation, I have developed confidence in my abilities.
